Homeroom 9B – Please take in picture orders ASAP.
English 9B – Today, students worked on the written self-portrait assignment. Some students chose to take home the rough draft to work on the final copy. These are due at the beginning of class tomorrow morning. Reminder – weekly homework assignment is also due tomorrow.
English 531/631 – Today students wrote a test on chapters 3 & 4. Tomorrow we will work on chapter 5.
English 431 – Today students wrote a test on chapters 1-14. Tomorrow we will continue reading our novel.
Students who were not present for the tests written today are reminded to reschedule!

Homeroom 9B – Picture orders are due back by October 8th at the latest.
English 9B – The weekly homework assignment was handed out today. These are due on Tuesday. Today we started work on a written self portrait, which can be done in paragraph or poetry form. Students are not expected to finish this for Monday; we will devote some class time to this.
English 531/631 – Today we discussed the themes and characters in chapter four. On Monday, we will have a test on chapters 3 & 4.
English 431 – Today, we went over the answers to chapters 12, 13 and 14. We also filled in a detailed character sketch of all the major characters in the novel thus far. We will have a test on what we have covered in the novel on Moday.

English 9B – Today students wrote their first test. The weekly homework assignment will be handed out tomorrow.
English 531/631 – We have read chapter four of our novel and will continue working on the questions which go with this chapter tomorrow. There will be a test on chapters 3 & 4 on Monday.
English 431 – We continue on in reading The Hand of Robin Squires. Today we covered chapters 12, 13 and 14. There will be a test on the chapters covered on Monday.

Homeroom 9B – There are still a few girls who need to pass in immunization consent forms.
English 9B – We have finished up looking at writing traits and literary terms. There will be a test on these tomorrow. Any questions? Send me an email, give me a ring or see me before school tomorrow.
English 531/631 – We have finished up reading chapter three of Of Mice and Men. We also worked on grammar today. Tomorrow we will start chapter four.
English 431 – Today students were given the chance to finish up research on pirates which is in conjunction with The Hand of Robin Squires. Tomorrow we will continue working on the questions for chapters 9, 10 and 11.

Homeroom 9B – Girls, please bring back your immunization consent forms tomorrow. There are only a few students remaining who need to return student information, low risk and computer use forms.
English 9B – Tomorrow we will finish up our look at ’sentence fluency’ by sharing your responses to the question ‘Is homework a good thing?”. Remember, we are looking at varying the length of sentences, and using transitional words. You will also have some class time to read for your independent novel study, so don’t forget your book! Weekly homework was also assigned. It is due back on Tuesday.
English 531/631 – Today, we wrapped up our work on commonly misspelled words, and went over the answers to Of Mice and Men chapter two questions. Tomorrow, we will have a test on the grammar work we have done, and on chapters one and two of the novel.
English 431 – Today we read chapters 4 & 5 of The Hand of Robin Squires and worked on comprehension questions related to these chapters. We didn’t get much time in the computer lab to finish up the webquest. I will try to schedule some time for you to finish this. Tomorrow we will continue on in the novel.

Homeroom 9B – Some students still need to return forms (computer use, student information, and low risk). Girls are also reminded to get the HPV immunization consent forms signed and returned by Friday. School pictures will be taken tomorrow.
English 9B – We have been reviewing the 6 + 1 Traits for writing. We have covered ‘ideas’ and ‘organization’, and tomorrow we will continue to look at ‘voice’. Students are reminded to choose a novel to read for independent reading. The assignment for this is due November 4th.
English 431 – We have finished our pre-reading activities and have started to read The Hand of Robin Squires. Tonight, students are asked to finish the grammer sheets we started to work on in class today.
English 531/631 – We have finished reading and working in Chapter 1 of Of Mice and Men. Tomorrow we will begin reading Chapter 2. Students are asked to review the questions for Chapter 2 before we begin reading tomorrow.
